Missile systems, demolition, and medical equipment were included in the drawdown.
The Department of Defense has provided Ukraine with additional weapons for its defense against Russia, making a $425 million withdrawal from the Presidential Drawdown Authority security package. Included in this drawdown are restocks of ammunition for various missile systems, including National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems (NASAMS). Medical equipment and demolition equipment were also provided.
The war between Russia and Ukraine began with the former’s invasion of Ukrainian territory in February 2022. Though Ukrainian allies, including the United States, have consistently supported Ukraine, Russia has cultivated its own allies to support its attack. Recently, North Korean forces have been reported on Ukraine’s front lines, though they have yet to be deployed.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Austin and Pentagon officials as they continue to send equipment and aid to Ukraine.
- For the president, vice president, and administration officials to seek God’s guidance regarding the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
