Will add 2,000 clean energy jobs and 1,400 megawatts to electric grid
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently allocated over $3 billion to expand clean energy in rural areas, allocating the funding to six rural electric cooperatives in nine states. Officials estimate that the investment will reduce annual climate pollution by 5.8 million tons and add 2,000 jobs and 1,400 megawatts to local economies and electric grids.
“Since day one of his administration, President Biden has remained committed to ensuring rural communities are directly benefiting from a clean energy economy,” Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack said. “These projects will strengthen America’s energy security while increasing access to affordable and reliable clean energy for people across the nation.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Vilsack to look to God for guidance as he supports clean energy initiatives.
- For USDA officials as they participate in programs to advance the administration’s energy goals.
