Issue 670 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The deputy secretary of defense and secretaries of the U.S. Army, Navy, and Air Force met with Australia’s minister for defense industry in Washington, D.C. The U.S. will be selling Australia advanced air defense interceptors as officials from both nations discuss cooperative work and progress on sharing advanced technology.

Pray for the U.S. military secretaries as they discuss agreements and partnerships with allied nations.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin affirmed there is evidence that North Korea has sent troops to Russia. He said if these troops, who are receiving training on drones and other equipment, are deployed to fight against Ukraine, it will be “a very, very serious issue.”

Pray for U.S. military officials as they engage foreign counterparts in efforts to de-escalate global tensions.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said there is a “real opportunity” to reach an agreement that will free the remaining hostages held by Hamas in Gaza after Israel killed leader Yahya Sinwar.

Pray that U.S. and Israeli officials would be successful in retrieving the surviving hostages.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating an E. coli outbreak that is possibly linked to slivered onions and fresh beef patties from McDonald’s quarter pounder burger. While 49 people have been reported ill across 10 states, most of the cases have occurred in Colorado and Nebraska. The fast food chain has temporarily removed the suspect ingredients from the menu.

Pray for the leaders of U.S. health agencies as they investigate bacterial outbreaks and various strains.

Pray for Needs Across the States

A three-judge panel in Tennessee ruled that doctors will not face penalties nor have their licenses revoked if they perform emergency abortions in the state. The decision came as a result of a challenge to the state’s abortion restrictions in 2022 regarding ambiguities about exemptions.

Voters in Idaho will have the opportunity to change the way elections are determined in their state. If the ranked-choice voting proposition receives enough support, there will no longer be party-specific primaries. A single primary would determine the top four candidates, and the one with the majority of general election votes would become the winner.

Pray for state judges and secretaries of state as questions of state constitutionality are determined.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“From Romans chapter 15, Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.‘
A.W. Tozer wrote… about unity in the church, ‘Has it ever occurred to you that 100 pianos all tuned to the same fork are automatically tuned to each other?‘ … In the same way, 100 worshipers meeting together, each one looking to Christ, are in heart nearer to each other than they could possibly be were they to become “unity conscious“ and turn their eyes away from God to strive for closer fellowship.‘ …
When we are individually united with Jesus, looking to Him, that draws us closer together corporately. When the vertical relationship with the Savior is where it needs to be, that has a direct correlation and impact on the horizontal relationship with our brothers and sisters in Christ.John Randall, A Daily Walk, October 2024
