Tuesday, October 15

Today, Supreme Court justices will hear oral arguments regarding tripled damages under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and nondiscretionary revocation of visa petitions.

In Medical Marijuana, Inc. v. Horn, the justices will consider whether economic harms from personal injuries are injuries to “business or property by reason of” the defendant’s acts for purposes of civil RICO.

In Bouarfa v. Mayorkas, the justices will have to decide whether a visa petitioner may obtain judicial review when an approved petition is revoked on the basis of nondiscretionary criteria.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the justices of the Supreme Court to be prudent in their consideration of the law and the arguments.
  • For Chief Justice Roberts to seek God’s guidance as he heads the Supreme Court.
  • For the president and his advisors as individuals are assessed and nominated to the federal judicary.
