Under Secretary LaPlante chaired the inaugural meeting.
This week, Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment William LaPlante chaired the inaugural plenary meeting of the Partnership for Indo-Pacific Industrial Resilience (PIPIR) in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was joined at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies and the United States Indo-Pacific Command by member nation representatives, senior leaders, and national armament directors from the Indo-Pacific and Euro-Atlantic regions.
Under Secretary LaPlante said, “Today’s security environment demands closer collaboration with our allies and partners. PIPIR will help strengthen our collective ability to produce and sustain warfighting capability in the Indo-Pacific, and the National Armaments Directors are uniquely positioned to drive action in these areas.”
Participants adopted a vision statement on the collaboration for defense industrial resilience. Four workstreams for projects were announced during the conference: Sustainment, Production, Supply Chain Resilience, and Policy and Optimization.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for Under Secretary LaPlante as he heads the DoD’s Office of Acquisition and Sustainment.
- For Secretary Austin to seek God’s guidance as he oversees the Department of Defense.
