Issue 668 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The U.S. Navy has contracted three additional, more technologically advanced, hospital ships for construction to join the USS Comfort and the USS Mercy. The two existing ships have been in service for almost four decades, providing medical support to the military and humanitarian and disaster relief around the world.

Pray for Secretary Del Toro and U.S. naval officials as they seek to increase the American fleet.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Ukraine has attacked stockpiles of ammunition Russia has received from North Korea. France has committed to sending Mirage 2000 fighter jets to Ukraine in 2025. Moscow banned the gaming messaging platform Discord, which its troops had been using to coordinate drone attacks.

For NATO leaders and allies to seek God’s direction on the war in Ukraine.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has postponed his visit to Washington as Israel ordered three northern Gaza hospitals to evacuate. The U.S. has shown support for Israel’s ground offensive in Lebanon, no longer seeking an immediate cease-fire.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for the people of Israel, Gaza, and Lebanon as the conflicts intensify.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Federal Trade Commission is suing pharmacy benefit managers (PBM), claiming that they have inflated the price of insulin. The FTC alleged that the three largest PBMs, that process 80 percent of U.S. prescriptions, have engaged in anticompetitive actions causing prices to increase.

Pray for wisdom for U.S. officials as they address the high cost of prescription medications.

Pray for Needs Across the States

Wyoming Governor Mark Gordon and Secretary of State Chuck Gray have disagreed about the means to ensure the application of the state’s statute and constitutional requirement that only U.S. citizens may register and vote in the state’s elections. The governor vetoed the secretary of state’s proposal to require proof of residency.

Mississippi Secretary of Education, Lance Evans, said that if the state adopts a voucher system private schools should be held to the same standards as public schools. He said, “If one single dollar of public money goes into a private school, then every single child in that school has to be subjected to the same assessment of every single student in public school.“

Pray for state governors and agency secretaries as they seek solutions for issues in their states.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“One of my favorite passages in all of the Scriptures is Romans chapter 6… it talks about the other half of the cross, the fact that not just Jesus dying for your sins, that’s half of the Gospel, that’s half of the message of the Cross. But the other half is that you died with Jesus. Have you heard that one? Yes, ‘crucified with Christ.‘ Not only that, but buried and raised to newness of life. Oh my goodness, that it a game changer! Is it not? Crucified, buried, and raised means you are a new person at the core of your being. And therefore, Paul poses the question, in Romans chapter 6, ‘How shall we who died to sin, live in it any longer?‘ He talks about it almost like its an impossibility!“ Andrew Farley, The Grace Message, October 2024
