Today, the justices of the U.S. Supreme Court hear their first oral arguments of the fall term.

In Williams v. Washington, the justices will hear the case of Alabama petitioners who sued the state’s labor department for delayed or never-received determinations regarding unemployment compensation claims. The court is to decide whether claimants must exhaust state administrative remedies before bringing a lawsuit.
In Royal Canin U.S.A. v. Wullschleger, the justices will consider whether a case may be remanded from federal to state courts if federal questions are removed from a complaint.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for the justices as they begin their term and hear the arguments in their first cases.
- For members of the Senate Judiciary Committee as they consider nominees to the federal bench.
- For President Biden and his advisors as they evaluate who they will appoint to federal courts.
