USDA Distributes $7.3 Billion for 16 Rural Clean Energy Companies

Secretary Vilsack says the investment will connect solar, hydro, and wind power to 5 million rural homes.

Secretary Tom Vilsack announced that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will be providing $7.3 billion to build clean energy infrastructure for rural communities. The funding will be distributed to 16 energy corporations, which will then partner with rural electric cooperatives to build the solar and wind arrays necessary to power over 5 million rural homes.

“One in five rural Americans will benefit from these clean energy investments, thanks to partnerships with rural electric cooperatives,” said Secretary Vilsack. “Under the Biden-Harris Administration, we are supporting a more prosperous future for rural communities by speeding up the transition to clean energy while at the same time keeping monthly bills low and investing in the American workforce with new jobs and apprenticeships.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Vilsack to seek God’s guidance as he oversees the USDA.
  • For USDA officials to be led by the Lord as they fund energy investments in agriculture.
