Deputy Secretary of State Says Beijing Providing Substantial Aid to Russian Military

U.S. is concerned over the increased exchange of supplies and weapons.

Deputy Secretary of State Kurt Campbell recently stated that Beijing is exchanging critical resources and military tech with Moscow, the first time a U.S. official has alleged overt military ties between China and Russia. The deputy secretary gave his statement after diplomatic meetings with the European Union and NATO, saying that the U.S. previously thought that China was only supplying Russia with “dual-use” technologies, which can be used for both civilian and military purposes.

“These are not dual-use capabilities,” Deputy Secretary Campbell said, referring to the latest materials China is giving Russia. “These are basically being applied directly to the Russian war machine.”

In exchange for these materials, Russia is sending China military technological information, including submarine operation improvements, aerial stealth design, and updated missile capabilities. The deputy secretary said that this new willingness to share information is a concerning shift in Russia’s attitude toward China, urging European countries to take a stronger public stance against this militaristic exchange.

He said, “We think that Europe can speak out more about its particular concerns, and we believe that simply putting certain financial institutions in a mode of being watched more carefully, and making that clear, will have significant consequences.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Deputy Secretary Campbell to seek God’s guidance as he fulfills his role in the State Department.
  • For Secretary of State Blinken to receive wisdom from the Lord as he heads U.S. diplomatic efforts.
