Education Department funding will support teacher development and retention in high-need communities.
The Department of Education announced that more than $28 million will be distributed through the Teacher Quality Partnership program to recruit and retain teachers in every state. This program will fund teacher preparation programs in high school and college and facilitate teaching residency programs for qualified individuals and school districts, especially those located in high-need communities.
“Nothing matters more in public education than making sure every child has access to great teachers, and that means well-prepared, well-supported, well-compensated, and fully empowered teachers,” said Education Secretary Miguel Cardona. “If we want to Raise the Bar for our students and create an educator workforce that reflects the beautiful diversity of this country, we must expand and support new pathways into the teaching profession.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Cardona to seek God’s direction as he heads the Education Department.
- For U.S. education officials to be prudent in their allotment of funds for school programs.
- For America’s teachers to teach students with integrity and a commitment to improve society.
