President Joe Biden issued proclamations for National Farm Safety and Health Week and National Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) Week.

“America’s farmers, farmworkers, and ranchers work around the clock to nourish our Nation and power our economy, allowing us to feed our communities and compete in markets worldwide,“ the president stated. “They also steward lands and provide meaningful jobs in our rural and Tribal communities. During National Farm Safety and Health Week, we recognize the incredible contributions of everyone working on farms, and we recommit to improving their safety and well-being.“

Regarding HBCUs, President Biden stated, “For more than 180 years, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) have delivered a quality education to Black students across our Nation. Over 100 HBCUs serve as engines of economic opportunity and make America more prosperous and equitable. … During National Historically Black Colleges and Universities Week, we celebrate the incredible legacy of these institutions, we honor the quality education, economic mobility, and opportunity they bring to so many students… and we recommit to supporting and investing in their success.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and his advisors as recognition is offered for HBCUs and for the health and safety of agricultural producers.
  • For Education Secretary Cardona to be discerning as he promotes the Raise the Bar initiative for academics.
  • For wisdom for Secretary Vilsack and USDA officials as they implement programs for farming and ranching.
