Transportation Department Distributes Funding to Airport Improvement Projects

$1.9 billion provided to develop airport safety and noise reduction across 48 states.

The Department of Transportation (DOT) has announced that $1.9 billion will be distributed to airport improvement projects through 519 grants. These grants, representing the fifth installment of the Airport Improvement Program, will allow airports in 48 states and six territories to construct new airport safety measures, improve noise reduction, and add testing and filtration to remove PFAS, also known as “forever chemicals,” from airport water infrastructure.

“The Biden-Harris Administration is funding projects across the country that are making airports safer and more efficient for the passengers who travel through them and for the airport and airline employees who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make these complex systems run as smoothly as possible,” said Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “The grants we’re announcing today will improve airfield operations for dozens of airports and help ensure the U.S. retains its global leadership in aviation.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Administrator Whitaker to seek God’s direction as he heads the Federal Aviation Administration.
  • For Secretary Buttigieg and Transportation Department officials to be discerning as they assess airport and air travel programs.
