The U.S. Supreme Court has accepted a case for the fall term regarding the ban on transgender interventions for minors.
In United States v. Skrmetti, the justices will hear the arguments regarding Tennessee’s ban of surgery, puberty blockers, and hormone treatments for those under 18 years of age.
Opponents of the law claim that these restrictions violate the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution.
Representatives Jerry Nadler of New York, Mark Pocan of Wisconsin, Frank Pallone of New Jersey, and Senators Jeff Merkley of Oregon and Ed Markey of Massachusetts have filed an amicus “friend of the court” brief in favor of the treatments.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for the Supreme Court justices as they consider and accept cases for the fall term.
- For the justices as they respond to emergency requests for stays and injunctions in cases being heard in lower court.
- For the president, his administration, and members of Congress to seek God’s guidance regarding transgender interventions for children.
