Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard Verma is on travel to Ukraine,  Poland, Slovakia, and Austria. He is reaffirming the U.S. commitment to support Ukraine’s economic resilience recovery agenda and self-defense in the war with Russia.

State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said that the deputy secretary would engage with Polish government officials and private sector leaders in support of Ukraine’s economic recovery.

He continued, “Deputy Secretary Verma will also focus on advancing our strategic partnership and shared goals such as strengthening NATO’s eastern flank during his visit to Slovakia. In Austria, he will meet with representatives from fellow Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe participating States to discuss issues related to Ukraine’s recovery. The Deputy Secretary will also meet with International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Rafael Grossi to discuss the Agency’s activities in Ukraine.“
