President Biden Responds to Georgia High School Shooting

FBI had information on the shooter making terrorist threats over a year ago.

President Joe Biden responded to the shooting at a high school in Barrow County, Georgia, which took the lives of two students and two teachers and injured nine other people. The shooter, who is a student at the school, gave himself up when confronted by a sheriff’s deputy acting as a school resource officer.

The president stated, “Jill and I are mourning the deaths of those whose lives were cut short due to more senseless gun violence and thinking of all of the survivors whose lives are forever changed.“ He continued, “We are closely coordinating with officials at the federal, state and local level, and are grateful for the first responders who brought the suspect into custody and prevented further loss of life.“

The Federal Bureau of Investigation’s Atlanta division had received tips at the National Threat Operations Center a year and a half ago about the teenager who committed the shooting. They had conducted an interview with him and his father.

“At that time, there was no probable cause for arrest or to take any additional law enforcement action on the local, state, or federal levels,” the FBI stated. “The subject referred to as the 13-year-old is the same subject in custody related to today’s shootings at Apalachee High School.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For God’s comfort for the families and friends of those who lost their lives in the shooting.
  • For wisdom for FBI officials as they receive and investigate tips on terror threats.
  • For the president, vice president, and members of the administration as they address gun violence.
