Supreme Court Allows Arizona to Enforce Part of Voter Registration Law

The case revolves around whether or not citizenship documentation is required to vote.

The U.S. Supreme Court allowed one of three voter registration provisions to be enforced in an Arizona election law while the case makes its way through lower courts. The high court permitted the provision that turns away voters who registered through the state’s form if they cannot provide documentation proving U.S. citizenship.

One of the paused provisions means that voters who registered through the federal form will be allowed to vote in the presidential election.

President Biden’s administration maintains the law violates the National Voter Registration Act, which requires individuals to attest to being U.S. citizens but does not require documentation.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the justices as they field requests for stays and injunctions during the summer recess.
  • For all federal judicial officials to be discerning in their rulings regarding voter registration and election integrity.
