Secretary Becerra announces the move as part of an administration-wide effort to improve language access and equity.
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a division-specific update to its language access plan. These strategies focus on increasing service access for people with limited English proficiency (LEP) and people with disabilities, offering guidance to ensure that language gaps do not hinder them from accessing federal healthcare programs.
“Removing the barriers that prevent people from accessing health care and human services support is one of our highest priorities,” said Secretary Xavier Becerra. “In addition to our department-wide plan, which we released last year, each individual division within HHS has established their own goals and plans aimed at further expanding access.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For wisdom for Secretary Becerra as he oversees the implementation of language services for ESL and disabled people.
- For HHS officials to be prudent as they administer federal health programs and policies.
