Competitive Grant Program Launched for Home Weatherization Research

The Energy Department seeks projects that demonstrate improved heat and cold resistance technologies.

The Department of Energy (DOE) is managing a grant program for weatherization enhancement and innovation, offering $36 million to projects demonstrating new techniques to improve heating and cooling technology for low-income homes. The grant program is seeking applicants who show cutting-edge methods to reduce energy payments, implement renewable energy sources, and improve local workforce development.

“These grant recipients are deploying ambitious projects to create the nation’s first historically-black, net-zero energy neighborhood, deploying solar technology, launching new workforce development tools and more,” said Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm. “DOE is thrilled to offer another opportunity to bring scalable innovations for greener buildings, while preparing a skilled, diverse American workforce with good-paying jobs.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Granholm to receive God’s direction as she heads the Energy Department.
  • For U.S. energy officials as they pursue advanced renewable power technologies.
