The department has selected 53 projects to develop new tools to aid private land conservation.
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced that 53 conservation innovations projects have been selected this month to receive $90 million in grant funding. These projects specifically focus on conservation work on private lands, developing new tools and best practices for farmers, ranchers, and landowners interested in supporting local ecosystems and curbing food production emissions.
“Over the last 20 years, USDA’s Conservation Innovation Grants have helped spur new tools and technologies to conserve natural resources, build resilience in producers’ operations and improve their bottom lines,” said Secretary Vilsack. “Thanks to President Biden’s historic Inflation Reduction Act, we are able to further empower our conservation partners, as well as help meet the demand from producers, to engage in conservation practices that are good for profitable farming, good for rural economies and good for the climate.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Vilsack to seek God’s direction as he heads the Department of Agriculture.
- For discernment for USDA officials as they allocate the funding and assess projects to receive it.
