Today, President Joe Biden is traveling to Austin, Texas, where he will deliver a speech commemorating the Civil Rights Act at the Lyndon B. Johnson Presidential Library. President Johnson signed the act in July 1964.
Mark Updegrove, President & CEO of the LBJ Foundation and a presidential historian, said, “Last year, President Biden said civil rights are ‘the unfinished fight of America.’ We look forward to commemorating this milestone with the President and hearing his vision for how we can continue to make real the promise of America for all of its citizens.”
President Biden’s visit was originally scheduled for July 15 but was postponed after the attempted assassination of former President Trump.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president as he advocates for civil rights and commemorates the Civil Rights Act.
- For federal officials who head the civil rights offices of each department and agency to be discerning in their work.
- For the Lord to draw the hearts of the president, vice president, and members of the administration to Him.
