The Office of Science and Technology Policy will oversee the effort.
This week, the White House announced several initiatives to increase protections for children’s privacy and safety online. The initiatives are an administration-wide effort directed by the White House’s Office of Science and Technology Policy (OSTP).
“What’s happening in the online environment today is something that happens every time we encounter and create powerful technologies,” OSTP Director Arati Prabhakar said. “They always come with a bright side and a dark side.”
The Education Department, the Federal Trade Commission, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention are among the agencies participating in this effort, much of which is centered around AI technologies used to identify and target younger users while they are online.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Director Prabhakar as she manages this effort to protect children’s digital privacy.
- For OSTP officials as they seek to implement strategies to safeguard children online.
- For leaders of the other federal agencies as they collaborate on security surrounding children and technology.
