First nationwide address after withdrawing from the presidential race.
President Joe Biden will give his first speech to the nation this evening after bowing out of the 2024 presidential race. He intends to share “what lies ahead, and how I will finish the job for the American people.”
“I’ve got six months left of my presidency,” President Biden said to his former campaign workers on Tuesday. “I’m determined to get as much done as I possibly can. Both foreign policy and domestic policy.”
The president has endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the next president, and will likely communicate more of his reflections in the days after he left the race. President Biden is expected to discuss his goals for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas and the release of the remaining hostages. His meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, which was canceled for Tuesday, has been rescheduled for Thursday.
