Darrell Issa
U.S. Representative for California
Darrell Edward Issa was born in November 1953 in Cleveland, Ohio. He dropped out of high school on his 17th birthday and enlisted in the U.S. Army, becoming an explosive ordnance disposal technician. Two years later, he received a hardship discharge after his father suffered a heart attack. He went on to earn a General Educational Development (GED) certificate. He earned an undergraduate degree from Kent State University. While at Kent State, he enrolled in the Reserve Officer Training Corps and was commissioned as a second lieutenant upon graduation. He was discharged in 1980 with the rank of captain.
Issa worked in the automobile industry and for an electronics start-up company. He moved to California and became involved in commercial real estate.
He made an unsuccessful run for the U.S. Senate. He was later elected to the U.S. House of Representatives, assuming office in January 2001.
Issa is twice divorced and has one son. He is an Orthodox Christian.

Representative Darrell Issa of California has called for accountability for the State Department’s Global Engagement Center (GEC), which has granted hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Global Disinformation Index. The entity has promoted blacklists of conservative websites to “defund disfavored speech.“
The congressman, who is a member of the Judiciary and House Foreign Affairs committees, stated, “Censoring free speech much stop.“
“It is disappointing but not surprising that the Biden State Department hasn’t come close to offering a suitable explanation or corrective action for its role in the censorship of individual Americans and established conservative media,” said Representative Issa. “Make no mistake: Congress isn’t done holding State accountable.”
