In the wake of the attempted assassination attempt of former President Donald Trump, President Biden addressed the nation and said, “An assassination attempt is contrary to everything we stand for as a nation. Everything. It’s not who we are as a nation. It’s not America, and we cannot allow this to happen.”
The president continues, “The FBI is leading this investigation, which is still in its early stages. We don’t yet have any information about the motive of the shooter. We know who he is. I urge everyone — everyone, please, don’t make assumptions about his motives or his affiliations.” The president appealed to Americans to respond by setting their differences at the ballot box, not through violence.
The president is scheduled to travel to Texas and Nevada this week, but his plans are subject to change due to the ongoing investigations.
Congressional leaders have also called for internal investigations into what happened and how the Secret Service and local authorities missed stopping the shooter in advance. Those are expected to begin this week.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the federal officials and department heads as they launch full investigations.
- For Congressional leaders as they also search for answers.
- For God to be at work in the hearts of all Americans, helping them seek peace instead of violence ahead of the 2024 elections.
