At 3 million passengers in one day, summer travel has been increasing by 5% compared to last year
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) screened 3.01 million airline passengers on July 7th, the highest amount recorded on a single day. Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said the record-breaking travel had been “spurred by our nation’s strong economy expected to continue in the months ahead.”
Daily airline passenger numbers have been notably increasing this year, with TSA previously setting new daily records in both May and June. The lobbying group Airlines for America said that U.S. airlines plan to increase daily flights by 5.6% this summer, adding 1,400 flights to the 26,000 initially planned. This will transport a total of 271 million passengers between June 1 and August 31, a 6.3% bump compared to 2023.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the TSA as they work to keep U.S. flights safe to staff and passengers.
- That the Biden administration offers support to companies wrangling with seasonal flux.
- That the Lord offers divine protection to Americans traveling this summer.
