Issue 654 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The U.S. Marine Corps has received new Amphibious Combat Vehicles (ACVs) in Okinawa. The armored eight-wheeled carriers are made to transport personnel from ship to shore. The new vehicles are replacing older assault amphibious vehicles.

Pray for Defense Department officials and heads of U.S. military branches as equipment updates and upgrades are made.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has requested that nations supporting Ukraine ease the restrictions they have placed on using the weapons they provide to strike targets within Russia. The U.S. has already authorized Ukraine to strike military targets along the interior of the border.

Pray for wisdom for U.S. and allied officials as the fighting expands into Russian territory.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

Secretary of State Antony Blinken said the U.S. is determined to prevent the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah from becoming an all-out war. He said, while Israel is prepared for war, that nation really does not want it, and neither does Lebanon.

Pray for Secretary Blinken and U.S. diplomats as they engage in efforts to reduce Middle Eastern conflicts.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Food and Drug Administration has revoked its authorization of the use of brominated vegetable oil (BVO) in food. The agency announced that BVO’s use no longer considered safe after studies in which the National Institutes of Health collaborated found the substance has a potential for adverse health effects.

Pray for FDA officials as they assess and evaluate food additives and other substances marketed for ingestion.

Pray for Needs Across the States

The attorneys general of Kentucky and West Virginia have headed the effort of dozens of states to halt the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s new rule mandating a 2 percent increase per year in fuel economy for new passenger cars and light trucks. The rule would apply to 2027-2031 model years for cars and 2029-2031 for light trucks.

The Iowa Supreme Court removed an injunction against the state’s fetal heartbeat law. The court also ruled in 2022 that there is no “fundamental right” to abortion.

Pray for state judges and attorneys general to be led by the Lord as they address legal issues in and pertaining to their states.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“We live in amazing times… the incredible realization that Jesus is coming for us, soon. We’re watching so many things happen and we are living in a time where the precursors to prophetic fulfillment, ultimately during the tribulation, are at a peak. We are living in a time where prophecy and things that point to them are happening, telling us we ought to be looking up every day for that moment and twinkling of an eye experience we’re all longing for. You know, Dr. Tom Asai… ‘what problem do you have that the Rapture wouldn’t solve?‘ I can’t think of one. Can you?
It is a privilege and a challenge to be born for such a time as this.– Jan Markell and Pastor Barry Stagner, Understanding the Times, June 2024
