Today, President Joe Biden is receiving an operational briefing at the D.C. Emergency Operations Center. He will also speak on the topic of extreme weather.

District of Columbia Mayor Murial Bowser opened the D.C. Emergency Operations Center in February 2023 in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the D.C. Homeland Security Emergency Management Agency (SEMA).

The 42,000-square-foot facility includes a situation room, joint information center, and federal coordination center. The purpose of the facility is to coordinate and adjudicate situations and responses during the activation of an emergency or planned special event.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the president and administration officials as they coordinate with federal emergency and local District of Columbia officials.
  • For discernment for the heads of DHS, FEMA, and other agencies as they prepare for emergency situations.
  • For the purposes of the Lord to be accomplished in the United States and throughout the world.
