DHS Secretary Outlines Critical Infrastructure Protection Strategies

Guidance specifies priority areas for federal, state, and local security efforts.

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas has published priority areas to guide the cybersecurity efforts of critical infrastructure entities across the United States, reflecting the federal government’s heightened focus on this technological area of concern.

“From the banking system to the electric grid, from healthcare to our nation’s water systems and more, we depend on the reliable functioning of our critical infrastructure as a matter of national security, economic security, and public safety,” said Secretary Mayorkas. “The threats facing our critical infrastructure demand a whole of society response and the priorities set forth in this memo will guide that work.”

Priority areas the secretary named include remaining vigilant against Chinese hacking, managing artificial intelligence use, and identifying existing supply chain vulnerabilities.

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Mayorkas and DHS officials to be prudent in their recommendations for cybersecurity.
  • For administration officials and federal legislators as they seek to protect critical infrastructure from hacking and cyber attacks.
