Issue 653 – National Prayer Needs

Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The National Guard has begun to field-test the Next Generation Squad Weapon systems. Troops with the 30th Armored Brigade Combat Team fired the XM7 rifle and the XM250 automatic rifle at Fort Liberty in North Carolina. The 101st Airborne Division is the first active-duty Army unit to receive the new weapons.

Pray for U.S. military and command leaders as they update weapons and armament technologies.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

President Biden’s administration is considering allowing U.S. military contractors to deploy to Ukraine. A de facto ban has stopped American contractors from supporting Ukraine’s maintenance and repair of U.S. weapons systems.

Pray for U.S. governing officials as they assess methods to provide support to Ukraine’s military.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller reported that Hamas has essentially rejected the most recent hostage deal proposal. Secretary Blinken had previously indicated that Hamas’ counter proposal might be viable.

Pray for Secretary Blinken and U.S. diplomats as they continue to pursue a cease-fire between Israel and Hamas.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The Department of Health and Human Services announced that some enrollees will pay a lower rate for 64 prescription drugs under Medicare Part B. Beginning July 1, the drugs will cost less for the third quarter of 2024 since the manufacturers were raising prices faster than the rate of inflation.

Pray for HHS and CMS officials as they evaluate and address prescription costs from drug companies.

Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY

The Dow Jones Indices reported that home prices rose to an all-time high in April. The slow pace of home construction is contributing to the consistent increases in the cost of housing.

Pray for U.S. financial officials as they assess and evaluate the nation’s housing market and home construction.

Pray for Needs Across the States

The Missouri attorney general has filed suit against International Business Machines (IBM). He alleges that the technology company has engaged in hiring practices that discriminate against white, Asian, and male applicants. Compensation has also reportedly been linked to adherence to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) metrics.

The Kansas Supreme Court has ruled that voting is not a fundamental right under the state Constitution’s Bill of Rights. The court finding was issued in a lawsuit regarding an election law the Kansas legislature passed in 2021.

Pray for state officials to seek God’s guidance as they take action and make policy decisions that impact their residents.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

“Jesus never fails. Do you believe that? Do you believe that when you trust in Jesus that He will never fail you? Stop and think about that one. … [sometimes it] depends on how crazy and chaotic circumstances are going because it can get pretty chaotic. You don’t know which problem to handle first sometimes. … Do you believe His promise that He would never forsake you or are your eyes fixed on your storm? Or is there another god that is taking His place right now? We want to challenge you to keep your eyes on Jesus and trust Him no matter what is happening around you. … Nothing and no one can take His place.“ – Laureen and Tony Giorgio, Living With Victory, June 2024
