Today, Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs Michele Sison is concluding her travels to Tokyo, Japan.

State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller said the assistant secretary is meeting “with Japanese Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs / Director-General, Foreign Policy Bureau, Kobe Yasuhiro, and other ministry officials to discuss UN Security Council coordination and preparations for the UN General Assembly’s High-Level Week in September.“

Prior to her visit to Japan, Spokesperson Miller stated that, in Malta, Assistant Secretary Sison met with Maltese Foreign Minister Ian Borg and other Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and Trade officials to discuss a range of UN Security Council issues and priorities. She also met with representatives from the International Organization for Migration and the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees to discuss each organization‘s regional efforts.

  • For Assistant Secretary Sison to receive God’s guidance as she represents the U.S.
  • For Secretary Blinken and other American diplomats to be discerning as they engage United Nations members.
  • That the president and his foreign advisors would look to the Lord for direction as they craft policy and respond to international events.
