The president’s delay in sending aid to Israel is similar to the first impeachment trial of former President Trump.
Representative Cory Mills of Florida filed an article of impeachment against President Joe Biden for halting a shipment of munitions to Israel that was mandated by Congress. The congressman likened the decision to withhold the weapons to the actions of former President Donald Trump, whose withholding of aid to Ukraine was the basis of his first impeachment trial.
The article of impeachment said that President Biden “solicited a ‘quid pro quo’ with the foreign government of Israel by withholding precision-guided weapons shipments in order to try and extract military policy changes.”
Congressman Mills stated, “As a member of the House of Representatives, it is my constitutional duty to present articles of impeachment against Joe Biden for his most recent abuse of power.”
He continued, “Joe Biden is pressuring Israel, our biggest ally in the Middle East, by pausing their funding that has already been approved in the House, if they don’t stop all operations with Hamas. It’s a very clear message, ‘this for that.‘“
