This week, U.S. Senate committees continued to hold hearings regarding executive agencies’ budget requests for fiscal year 2025.
The Senate Judiciary Committee, chaired by Senator Dick Durbin of Illinois, considered the reauthorization of the COPS ON THE BEAT program as well as the nominations of individuals for district and circuit judge vacancies.
The Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee, chaired by Senator Sherrod Brown, heard testimony on the impact of “shrinkflation” and technology on consumers’ finances.
The Senate Armed Service Committee, chaired by Senator Jack Reed of Rhode Island, heard testimony from intelligence officials on worldwide threats and then held a closed session.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the chairs and members of the Senate committees and subcommittees to receive God’s direction as they conduct investigations and hear testimony.
- For senators and representatives in Congress to be discerning about the federal budget and national debt.
- For President Biden and administration officials to turn to the Lord for wisdom.
