This week, Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron to discuss pending aid from the United States to Ukraine.
“The supplemental budget request that President Biden has made of Congress is urgent and it’s imperative since the House is now back in session,” Secretary Blinken said. “We look to see that brought before the House and to get a vote as quickly as possible.”
Foreign Secretary Cameron also met with certain congressional leaders. The Senate already passed a measure to provide assistance to Ukraine that has stalled in the House. The foreign secretary said that “success for Ukraine and failure for (Russian President Vladimir) Putin are vital for American and European security.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Blinken to be discerning as he advocates for continued assistance for Ukraine.
- For wisdom for House Speaker Johnson as he considers aid packages for Ukraine.
- For the president and his foreign advisors to be prudent as they commit support to U.S. allies.
