Today, President Joe Biden is visiting Baltimore, Maryland, to survey the progress of the cleanup work after the cargo ship collision that caused the Francis Scott Key Bridge to collapse.
The president will meet with Maryland Governor Wes Moore and other state and local officials. Various federal and state agencies have come together as a unified command to reopen the port.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated, “The U.S. Coast Guard is coordinating a complex and highly coordinated effort to remove the wreckage with resources from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the state of Maryland, and others. Crane barges are on the scene supporting the mission.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president and governor of Maryland as they assess the damage and recovery efforts.
- For wisdom for governing officials as they survey the scene of the bridge collapse and the temporary channels that have been opened to the port.
- For U.S. infrastructure and cyber security officials as they seek methods to protect critical U.S. infrastructure.
