Mifepristone is a prescription drug used in medication abortions that can sent via the mail.
The Supreme Court heard initial arguments for the restriction of mifepristone, a prescription drug used in medication abortions that can sent via the mail. While it does require a prescription, it does not require an in-person visit from a doctor.
The Food and Drug Administration has pushed to increase women’s access the the drug in recent years, but there have been several legal challenges to the decision by state and U.S. federal district courts.
This is the first major abortion-related case to reach the high court since the overturning of Roe v. Wade two years ago. The court is expected to release a decision for FDA v. Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine in early July.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the nine justices of the Supreme Court as they evaluate the evidence of the case on mifepristone.
- For federal judges as they assess the standing and the arguments in the cases they hear in protecting the sanctity of life and protecting rights and liberty for all Americans.
- For federal officials in the FDA as they evaluate the safety standards of medicine in order to keep Americans safe.
