The chair of the Joint Chiefs also participated in the meeting.
In his first international trip since being hospitalized earlier this year, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin traveled to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, to take part in the 20th Ukraine Defense Contact Group. Chair of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General C.Q. Brown, also attended the meeting alongside ministers of defense and senior military officials from approximately 50 countries.
The defense secretary said the U.S. “will not let Ukraine fail,” though aid to Ukraine has been delayed in Congress.
“Ukraine’s troops face harsh conditions and hard fighting, and Ukraine civilians endure a constant barrage of Russian missiles and Iranian drones, but Ukraine won’t back down, and neither will the United States,” Secretary Austin said.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Austin to be led by the Lord as he heads the Defense Department.
- For General Brown and the rest of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as they provide recommendations to the president and defense secretary.
