Applications are being accepted for 2024 funding.
The Department of Transportation opened applications for $1.25 billion in competitive grants to fund local roadway safety projects. Last year, more than 1,000 communities received funding to improve areas that statistically experience a higher number of traffic fatalities. This year, the department will also prioritize communities with greater funding challenges, encouraging those who did not apply last year to apply in 2024.
“Every community knows some intersection or stretch of road that is dangerous to approach – now we have an opportunity to make them safer,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “The Biden-Harris administration is proud to make over $1.2 billion available for projects that can save lives on our roads, from highway redesigns to protected bike lanes, and we invite communities of every size to apply.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Transportation Department officials as they review and assess the needs of the applicants for improved road safety and design.
- For discernment for Secretary Buttigieg as he oversees the Transportation Department.
