President Joe Biden is traveling to East Palestine, Ohio, today to visit the site where a Norfolk Southern train carrying toxic chemicals derailed last year. The hazardous spill and subsequent burning of the chemicals have created environmental problems in the region.
East Palestine Mayor Trent Conaway invited the president as a way of supporting the community. Residents along the Ohio-Pennsylvania border continue to be concerned about the health ramifications of the chemicals that were released into the ground and atmosphere.
This is the first time the president will have visited the scene of this disaster.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For the president to bring some comfort to the residents of the region.
- For Mayor Conaway and other local and state officials as they seek to ensure the health and safety of the people who live and work in the area of East Palestine.
- For Administrator Michael Regan and others in the EPA as they test and review the impact of the chemicals polluting the soil and water.
