Additional National Prayer Needs

Pray for America’s Military

The Defense Department has announced that contracts have been awarded to three companies for the development of underwater drones. The Defense Innovation Unit stated that “undersea warfare is critical to success in the Pacific and other contested environments.

Pray for wisdom for the leaders of U.S. military agencies as well as the commanders in the field.

PRAY FOR AN END TO THE WAR IN UKRAINE

Attempts by Russia to negotiate a ceasefire have reportedly been rejected by the U.S. While President Putin has proposed freezing the war to engage in talks, U.S. officials say Ukraine must be involved in negotiations.

Pray for the president and members of the administration as they continue their commitment to funding Ukraine against Russia.

Pray for AMERICA’S FOREIGN RELATIONS

Thai Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken regarding the alliance of the two nations, the collaboration for trade and investment, and the humanitarian crisis in Burma.

Pray for Secretary Blinken and U.S. ambassadors who engage in efforts to strengthen alliances in the Indo-Pacific.

Pray for AMERICA’S RELATIONSHIP WITH ISRAEL

National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby said the White House was “pleased to hear the news of two Israeli hostages freed… by Israeli Defense Forces in Rafah after 128 days.” The administration continues to focus on the casualties in Gaza that are the result of Israeli Defense Force Operations.

Pray for U.S. officials to be discerning as they respond to the actions of the IDF and Israeli leaders.

Pray for AMERICA’S HEALTH AND WELL-BEING

The U.S. Interagency Council on Homelessness, under the leadership of Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, met this month to discuss how the federal government can provide more support for state and local efforts to meet the needs of people experiencing both homelessness and mental health or substance use disorders.

For health officials as they seek to provide solutions for people who are without shelter and struggling with addictions.

Pray for AMERICA’S ECONOMY

The Labor Department reported an increase in consumer prices in January. The cost of rental housing reportedly contributed to the largest rise in four months as the Bureau of Labor Statistics reported the consumer price index up 0.3% compared to 0.2% in December.

Pray for members of the Federal Reserve as they assess the U.S. economy and determine whether or not to reduce interest rates.

Pray for Needs Across the States

A federal judge has blocked the state of Ohio’s Social Media Notification Act which requires websites to gain parental permission for any used under 16. Governor Mike DeWine spoke out against the decision, stating, “There is overwhelming evidence that social media has a negative effect on the mental health of minors.“

The Idaho legislature is crafting a bill that outlines requirements for libraries to follow if a book is challenged as “harmful to minors” under Idaho code. The measure would enact a review committee and public hearing if a library or school district was not responsive to students or parents.

Pray for state governors and legislatures as they address the appropriateness of library materials or the impact of social media on minors.

Pray for America’s Faith Community

We are coming to the southern border because it is one of the neediest areas of our country at this time, and people need to hear a message of hope. Everyone along the border is overwhelmed—the churches, the law enforcement agencies, the residents, those they’re trying to help, as well as the people coming into our country. There are a lot of hungry hearts and hurting people, so I’m coming to the border to tell everyone about God’s Son, Jesus Christ, and how He can make a difference in our lives if we put our faith and our trust in Him.“ – Franklin Graham, President and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, February 2024
