He is taking part in discussions surrounding the control of Gaza and preventing the spread of the war.
Secretary of State Antony Blinken is in the Middle East for the fifth time since Hamas’ attack on Israel on October 7. He is participating in negotiations regarding the hostages held by Hamas, strategies regarding Israel’s defense against terrorists, and the governance of Gaza.
Secretary Blinken said earlier this week, “I think it’s very important to note that this is an incredibly volatile time in the Middle East. I would argue that we’ve not seen a situation as dangerous as the one we’re facing now across the region since at least 1973, and arguably even before that.”
National Security Council spokesman John Kirby stated, “These negotiations, our negotiations, are very, very active.” He referenced talks held between CIA Director William Burns, senior Israeli and Egyptian intelligence officials, and Qatar’s prime minister last weekend, saying, “We believe that the discussions have been productive. They’ve been moving in the right direction.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Blinken to receive God’s guidance as he discusses options and plans for the Middle East.
- For the peace of Jerusalem and wisdom for Israeli governing officials.
- For the president and his administration to be discerning in their negotiations with both allies and adversaries.
