National Security Council spokesperson says to expect “multiple actions.”
President Joe Biden has landed on a “tiered” response to a drone attack that killed three U.S. service members in Jordan over the weekend. The president and White House National Security spokesperson, John Kirby, spoke with reporters aboard Air Force One as they flew to Florida, saying that whatever actions are taken will avoid escalation while still sending a clear message.
“It’s fair for you to expect that we will respond in an appropriate fashion and it is very possible that what you’ll see is a tiered approach here, not just a single action but potentially multiple actions,” Coordinator Kirby said.
Asked if Iran was responsible, President Biden said, “I do hold… them responsible in the sense that they’re supplying the weapons” to those who carried out the attacks.
