Secretary of State Antony Blinken is traveling to Cabo Verde, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, and Angola this week.

State Department Spokesman Matthew Miller said Secretary Blinken is highlighting “how the United States has accelerated the U.S.-Africa partnership since the U.S.-Africa Leaders Summit, including in areas such as climate, food, and health security.“

“The Secretary will advance security partnerships based on shared values such as respect for human rights, promotion of democracy, and expansion of the rule of law,“ he continued. “The United States reaffirms its sustained commitment to high-level U.S. engagement with Africa.“

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For the safety of the secretary of state as he travels in Africa.
  • For wisdom for Secretary Blinken as he engages with leaders in the various nations on the African continent this week.
  • For the president and foreign relations officials in his administration to be discerning in their international plans and partnerships.
