At issue is the grounding of the 737 Max 9 aircraft.
Senators Ted Cruz of Texas and Mark Warner of Virginia, as well as other members of Congress, are scheduled to meet with CEO of Boeing, Dave Calhoun over concerns about the safety of the 737 Max 9. Earlier this month, an Alaska Airlines Max 9 aircraft experienced an in-flight crisis when a plug door panel blew off the plane in mid-air.
The Federal Aviation Administration ordered the temporary grounding of all such aircraft operated by U.S. airlines or in U.S. territories. United Airlines, which also flies a number of the same model, said they were also considering the possibility of other Boeing craft in the near future, such as the 737 Max 10.
The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation has jurisdiction over the aviation industry and Senator Cruz is the ranking member of that committee.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Senators Cruz and Warner to be discerning as they discuss the safety of the Boeing 737 Max 9 with the chief executive officer.
- For members of the Senate Commerce Committee as they seek to ensure the safety of air travel.
