The 90-year-old senator expects to return to work soon.
Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa has been hospitalized and is receiving treatment for an infection.
His office stated, “Senator Chuck Grassley is receiving antibiotic infusions at an area hospital to treat an infection. He is in good spirits and will return to work as soon as possible following doctors’ orders.”
In December, Senator Grassley underwent surgery on a fractured hip. He returned to the Senate aided by a wheelchair.
The elderly statesman has been in the Senate since January 1981.
