She participated in a roundtable discussion on protections for migrant workers.
Acting Labor Secretary Su joined a roundtable discussion at the Arriba Las Vegas Workers Center last week, going over Labor Department protections for immigrant workers with organization members and leaders. The center supports labor education and training in the area, and the event covered how to support worker requests for prosecutorial discretion in the all too common event of a legal labor dispute.
“It is a priority for me and my department that all workers can exercise their rights. The Department of Labor must also do everything within our power to enforce labor laws.” Acting Secretary Su said at the meeting. “Enforcing labor laws is a tool not only to combat wage theft and protect workers, but also to support them in increasing their power. Let’s work together to achieve it.”
