Department of Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin is on a trip to the Middle East with a goal of strengthening regional security.
He visited Kuwait on Sunday as part of a presidential delegation paying respects after the death of Amir of the State of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Sabah.
Secretary Austin met with Israeli officials in Tel Aviv on Monday to discuss strategies in the war with Hamas.
Today, the defense secretary is in Bahrain and will hold a virtual meeting of ministers of defense regarding Houthi rebels’ increasing attacks against commercial vessels in the Red Sea.
“These attacks are reckless, dangerous, and they violate international law,” Secretary Austin said Monday. “This is not just a U.S. issue. This is an international problem, and it deserves an international response.”
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Austin to be discerning as he discusses Red Sea security with foreign counterparts.
- For wisdom for U.S. and international leaders as they address terrorist attacks against civilians and commercial vessels.
- For the president and his foreign policy advisors as they seek support for Israel and Ukraine.
