With what can we compare the kingdom of God? – Mark 4:30
Jesus follows the question in today’s verse with a comparison of the kingdom of God to a mustard seed, one of the smallest of all the seeds on earth. After being planted, it grows and becomes one the largest of all plants with such numerous branches that birds are shaded by perching there. As a mustard seed, faith starts small and grows over time. Full-grown faith provides support and protection, similar to the branches of the tree that has grown from the mustard seed. The adversities and seasons of life are opportunities to grow closer to the Lord and develop stronger trust. When circumstances are overwhelming, rest in Jesus as your rock and the firm foundation in the storm. While you follow the Lord as a citizen of heaven and learn to let the Holy Spirit guide you, you become a representative and ambassador of the King, glorifying Him on Earth.
