Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I tell you? – Luke 6:46
Children are often given instruction to do various chores, but they do not always get the work accomplished. They know what they are supposed to do, yet choose not to do it. As children of God, believers tend to cry out to Him saying, “Lord, what should I do? How can I do this? Show me what needs to be done!“ However, when He provides direction on the way you should go, how often have you avoided following His instruction? When the Lord leads you to do things that are uncomfortable or make you feel uncertain, ask Him to lead you clearly on His path. Your foundation is built on the solid rock of Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit will guide you as you walk by faith. Start with the simple directions to love the Lord and love your neighbor. If you find those difficult, ask Him for help and He will assist you!
As the Lord leads, pray with us…
- For members of Congress as they represent their constituents to remember that they are public servants.
- For federal justices and judges to seek God’s guidance as they hear and decide cases that set legal precedents.
