Houthi rebels claim responsibility for the attacks against the U.S. vessel and three commercial vessels.
The Pentagon confirmed that a U.S. warship and commercial vessels in the Red Sea were attacked by Houthi rebels on Sunday. The U.S. vessel shot down three drones during the attack. The rebels claimed it was in response to the Israel-Hamas war and continues the series of attacks that have increased since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7.
U.S. Central Command stated, “These attacks represent a direct threat to international commerce and maritime security. They have jeopardized the lives of international crews representing multiple countries around the world.“
They added, “We also have every reason to believe that these attacks, while launched by the Houthis in Yemen, are fully enabled by Iran. The United States will consider all appropriate responses in full coordination with its international allies and partners.“
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For General Kurilla to be led by the Lord as he commands CENTCOM.
- For wisdom for Secretary Austin and military leaders at the Pentagon.
- For the safety of U.S. military personnel stationed and serving in the Middle East.
