And who is my neighbor? – Luke 10:29
President Woodrow Wilson set sail for Versailles on this date in 1918, making him the first sitting president to travel to Europe while in office. President Wison traveled to France to participate in the peace negotiations that would bring about the end of the First World War. The president also set out with the goal of setting up a new “league of nations” which would prevent future mass bloodshed through new lines of diplomatic communications. The League of Nations would fall apart during the Second World War, but President Wilson’s vision for world diplomacy was not extinguished. The United Nations began operation in 1945 and has continued to this day. As you pray for governing officials in this nation today, ask the Lord to show you how to unite others in Him.
As the Lord leads, pray with us…
- For U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield to represent the nation with integrity.
- For Secretary of State Antony Blinken to seek God’s guidance as he heads the diplomatic effortss of the State Department.
